Frequently asked questions

Practical answers to the questions we hear before a first call.

Where is the team located, and how do we collaborate across time zones?

We are based in Shenzhen, China (UTC+8) and work async-first with clients in North America, Europe and Asia. Most communication happens over email, Slack and weekly or bi-weekly calls that respect your time zone.

Do you take on small one-off tasks?

Usually not. Our engagements start with a scoped review or a defined project (theme system, headless build, custom app, integration). If your need is a single small fix, we will point you to the right resource instead.

What does a Commerce Architecture Review include, and what does it cost?

A scoped audit of your theme, data flow and roadmap: findings, risks and a prioritized plan — not a pitch. Price depends on scope and is fixed in a written proposal before we start. Typical reviews land in the $3k–$8k range.

Who owns the code and intellectual property?

You do. All code, documentation and design assets we produce are delivered to you, and you retain full ownership. We keep no claim on your storefront, apps or data.

Do you work with stores on Shopify Basic/Advanced, or only Shopify Plus?

We work across plans. Theme engineering and custom apps apply on any plan; some capabilities (Shopify Functions, Markets, B2B) require Shopify Plus or higher, and we will tell you upfront if a feature needs an upgrade.

What happens after launch — do you offer ongoing maintenance?

Yes. Most clients keep us on a retainer for version upgrades, technical debt, performance monitoring and iteration. Retainers are optional and can start or stop with 30 days’ notice.
