Privacy Policy

What we collect on this site, why we collect it, and the rights you have over your data. Short version: we collect only what you send us through the contact form, plus anonymised usage statistics (only if you consent), and we do not sell any of it.

Last updated: 2026-08-20

This privacy policy explains how Shenzhen Chivance Technology Co., Ltd. ("Chivance", "we") handles information collected through this website (chivance.com). It applies to all visitors, regardless of location — we design it to meet the GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and China's PIPL where they apply to you.

1. Information we collect

Through the contact form: name, work email, project type, store URL (optional), budget range (optional) and your message. These are the fields you choose to submit.

Automatically: standard server logs (IP address, user agent, request time) used for security and abuse prevention.

Website analytics (only with your consent): we use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors find and use this site. GA4 collects anonymised, aggregated statistics — page views, acquisition source and referrer, device and browser type, and an approximate region derived from your IP address. GA4 works through Google cookies (_ga, _ga_<container ID>); we do not use it for advertising or remarketing. GA4 only activates and sends data after you click "Accept" on the cookie banner; if you decline, no analytics data is sent.

Locally in your browser: your language preference (en/zh) and your cookie consent choice are stored in localStorage so the site can keep your selection on return visits. This data never leaves your device.

2. How we use your information

To respond to your enquiry and evaluate a potential engagement.

To analyse site traffic and how visitors use the site (at an aggregate level), so we can improve content and experience — only when you have consented to analytics.

To improve the site and prevent abuse (rate limiting, spam filtering).

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We do not use it for marketing lists unless you separately opt in.

3. Where your information goes

Contact form submissions are processed by a Cloudflare Pages Function and delivered to our team via the channels we have configured (e.g. a Slack webhook or an email service such as Resend). The data is stored only long enough to handle your enquiry, then deleted on request or after we close the conversation.

Website analytics: when enabled, page data is sent to Google (Google Analytics 4). Google processes it as our analytics provider, including possible transfer to Google servers in the US and elsewhere, under Google's data processing terms (Google Ads Data Processing Terms). We have not enabled any advertising features, and Google does not combine our analytics data with advertising products.

Cloudflare (our hosting provider) processes traffic in accordance with its own Data Processing Addendum. We are based in Shenzhen, China; by submitting the form you acknowledge that your message may be transmitted internationally.

4. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict processing. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@chivance.com

Regarding analytics: you can stop being collected by GA4 at any time by clearing your browser cookies, or by installing Google's Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Clearing your browser data also resets your cookie consent choice, and the banner will reappear.

We respond to verified requests within 30 days. If you are in the EU/UK, you may also lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority; if you are in California, you may contact the California Privacy Protection Agency.

5. Retention & security

We keep enquiry data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected. Communications are protected in transit (HTTPS, HSTS), and our form endpoint applies rate limiting and spam protections.

Analytics data: when enabled, GA4 data is retained per Google's data retention settings (14 months by default for our property), after which Google deletes it automatically.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices or legal obligations evolve. The "last updated" date below reflects the current version. Material changes will be announced on this page.
